For the new public swimmingpool in Middelkerke, Belgium, local myths are brought back to life on the wide walls of the building. Set as a central place for it's citizens, the wall illustrations tells their communual historic tale.
To have a sence of a myth that's being told without words, the drawings are illustrated in a biological hatching technique. This gives the fantasy-rich elements almost an historic feel.
To resonate with the locals and their surroundings I used a lot of local flora & fauna like seaweed and herring.
Troughout the whole building, the style is extended into multiple signing posts.
